I previously mentioned that Torrey originally thought this would be a ride he would do alone. But with an idea as crazy this, there will certainly be others who are interested. Most of you know Torrey. He began riding at 12 years old. When he was 16 years old, and after working all summer on his grandpa's farm he earned enough money to buy a Suzuki 125cc. He's had a number of bikes over the years. On this trip he's riding his 2013 CVO Road Glide.
Alan Rundle has also joined this ride. He and Torrey have known each other forever literally. They are first cousins as their mothers are sisters. He too has been riding most of his life. He also grew up working on his parents farm and had bikes from early on. He's riding 2010 Ultra Classic Limited. It's a red beauty and comes equipped with GPS. Alan is retired and hails from Southern Utah.
Tim and Shannon Cowden helped plan this ride for more than a year. They've been friends of Torrey's since 2006 when they met through POW*MIA Awareness Association. They've been motorcycle enthusiasts since they were in high school. Tim & Shannon are riding two up on their 2014 Street Glide that they bought on the ride to Harley's 110th Anniversary in Milwaukee that we enjoyed together with several others too. Tim & Shannon are both retired and working. Tim completed 20 years with the Idaho National Guard retiring in 2015. He continues with his employment at Simplot.
Torrey and I have been riding the journey of life together since 2005. I am the least experienced rider with only 13 years of riding under my belt. I'm riding my 2009 CVO Fat Bob which is the only non-touring bike in the fleet. That said, it's a perfect touring bike for me. It does lack cruise control and have a slightly smaller gas tank than the other bikes in our group. Hopefully those factors won't come into play
Ha! Chops has the smallest tank...leave it to her to always be running on empty...as her sister I can verify that as a fact! Lol! Better fill 'er up often. You don't want to be pushing it on this trip.
ReplyDeleteRide on, Sister!
